High-Tech Manufacturer's Commitment: Improving Lives of the Marginalized
We are thrilled to present this month’s episode of Leadership Reimagined, featuring Nicole Russo, President and CEO of Microboard. In celebration of Women’s History Month, we highlight a truly purpose-driven leader transforming the manufacturing space and the world around her. Nicole shares the values instilled by her father, who founded Microboard with a bold, lasting commitment: to give away 100% of the company’s net profits at the end of every fiscal year to fund humanitarian missions for the poorest of the poor around the world — a plan still honored today. “There’s no U-Haul behind your hearse. It’s wonderful to have things and to accumulate homes and different things, but my dad really impressed on us that what was more important was really to make sure the world was left a better place each year. At the end of every year, regardless of how much money the business had made or not made, he would give away a certain amount.” Nicole’s passion for impact is contagious — from employing individuals often overlooked, to developing life-saving defense and medical technologies, to pioneering workforce upskilling.
